Gigaclear

Gigaclear cabinet

Full Fibre broadband, Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP), went live in the Failand triangle in 2019, providing speeds up to 900Mbps independent of location. You can check availability on the Gigaclear site:

www.gigaclear.com

Price per month on the lower tariffs is cheaper than standard "Fibre", Fibre-to-the-cabinet (FTTC), with much higher speeds and independent of the location of your house in the triangle:

£17 (300Mbps), £26 (600Mbps), £49 (900Mbps).

If you subscribe, Fibre will be run from the black 'pot' in the pavement outside your house into your home and connected to a new router provided by Gigaclear.

Gigaclear provide a smart wifi mesh system based on the Linksys Velop router and satellite nodes which should be good at getting the signal around a larger house.

A disadvantage over standard FTTC is that you are stuck with one provider, Gigaclear, rather than having a choice of ISP.

The main Gigaclear hub is the green cabinet at the end of Sixty Acres Close. Fibre runs from there to the small green cabinets in each road and from those to the black 'pots' which already contain the connection cables.
