Broadband in Failand

Broadband speed map

Standard "Fibre" broadband, Fibre-to-the-Cabinet (FTTC), is available throughout the Failand triangle from any ISP with speeds from 80Mbps near the cabinet by the traffic lights down to less than 20Mbps at the furthest points like Jubilee Drive. Connection is via your copper phone line. ~£30/month.

Gigaclear Full Fibre is available throughout the Failand triangle with speeds from 200Mbps up to 900Mbps depending on package chosen. Connection is via fibre from the black 'pot' in the pavement outside each house. Issue is that you are stuck with one provider Gigaclear, you cannot choose your ISP. £20 - £50/month.

Openreach Full Fibre, using BT network but available from any ISP, is now here but only in limited parts of Failand, with speeds up to 900Mbps depending on package chosen. Connection is via fibre from the black connector on a telegraph pole. £35 - £50/month.

In Lower Failand, standard Fibre speeds are low < 20Mbps and Gigaclear is only available in Oxhouse Lane and towards Abbots Leigh so some residents are using satellite via with speeds about 100Mbps. £75/month, £449 setup.
